Well, while we were in North Carolina to visit with family, we took a day to visit the North Carolina Zoo! I had so much fun, and we managed to get there just in time to beat the crowds, we got a good parking spot, we got the last 7 seats on the Zoofari, and we managed to fit the entire zoo into one day with out a single (serious) meltdowns!

To begin our day, right off the bat we decided to do the Zoofari. (This is not included in your entrance fee, and its $20 per person and they have certain departure times - its best to be there early and get your tickets first for the next departure), the ticket place located is at C on the Zoo map - and then they transport you too where you get on to ride through the Africa Exhibit. This is a really neat way to know out most of those exhibits- and creates less walking for you. (Lazy girl tip right there:) )

THE ZOOFARI EXPERIENCE

The ostrich came right up and hung out for a while, they have a project they are working on with the selfies people take with her on the Zoofari’s, she was very sweet.

We also saw some rinhos - momma and her little baby, and some other females. One of the males, the new babies dad, tried to go visit. Turns out, that is uncharacteristic for the males to want anything to do with the babies after they are born, but he really tried.

Then there are a load of antelope and other animals. The zebra’s were grazing pretty close to the trail, which was cool. You could also see the elephant exhibit in the distance, as well as the giraffes.

Then we walked through these other awesome exhibits:

The alligators were up and moving around, the one was much longer than he looked at first. Next, we saw the lynx enjoying some shade in the southern sun.

The arctic exhibit was splendid as well, we even got a good show from the polar bear! He was moving around and making noise for everyone for a while, he was a big, big guy!

Then there were desert cats, and the desert bugs and snakes too - always more fun to experience some of those this way rather than naturally. We saw some big spiders, and scorpions, and some pretty cool little birds as well.

The grizzly bear was enjoying an late morning nap when we made it to his spot. He did not have many other plans for the day it seamed.

We got a short glimpse of the lions as well, he was enjoying a rope toy in the shade.

As our last stop, we got to feed the Giraffes at the Deck, they walk right up to the balcony and then you can feed them lettuce right there! It does cost 3 or 5 bucks on top of the entrance fee but it was worth it.

Best THP tip: park on one end, ride the tram to the opposite side and then walk your way back. This way you can see everything, stop in the middle to eat, and then when your done you are right where you left your car. (This tip has been originally brought to you by my fiancé- who always makes sure we see everything there is to see <3).
